In November 2010, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Case Western Reserve University devoted a week of programming to New Orleans legends Fats Domino and Dave Bartholomew. Eddie Ray joined a panel discussion alongside guitarist Ernest McLean, road manager Billy Diamond, saxophonist Herbert Hardesty, and drummer Bob French — the musicians and crew who built Domino’s sound — to talk about the years he spent taking Domino’s records to radio and retail across the country.

In October 2009, at the induction night of the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame in Kannapolis, a room full of the state’s music royalty rose to its feet for Eddie Ray — the man who had returned home to help rebuild the Hall as its Operations Director and Vice Chairman, and who that night joined it as one of its own inductees.

Eddie Ray and Mike Curb sat down together for Belmont University’s Insider’s View interview series, revisiting how a teenage Mike Curb first walked into Eddie’s office at Capitol Records — and how that meeting became Curb’s first break in the music business. The two traced sixty years of a friendship that ran from Capitol’s Tower Records to Curb’s founding of the music-business program that bears his name today at Belmont.
